That sounds okay if your existence is 1-dimensional. But here in the real world, it ain't so cut and dried. People provoke people. Quite often, people will buy what you're selling. Not everyone has restraint. So if you don't start shit with people, you can probably stay out of the line of fire.

A real woman takes responsibility too. While this instance was clearly nauseating, the reality of domestic violence isn't always so unilateral. Yes, women do pick fights. Don't get that twisted.

People goad other people all of the time. At 6'5", 230lbs of solid muscle, I get goaded all of the time. And while this is indeed grotesque, I have to make note of the fact that she has been with the dude for a while. I bet this wasn't the 1st time and she still crawled right back into his bed.

@AdamBladeTaylor no. Just people. Again, it's easy to be a folk hero on an internet thread. It takes actual thought to consider reality. No. It's not "abusive" people who don't have restraint. It's just people. Period. And again, you're using platitudes and going for applause lines. Stop doing that

They have a kid together if I'm not mistaken. She knew who he was but proceeded to merge DNA with the dude. You don't always get what you pay for but you pay for everything you get.

@AdamBladeTaylor that sounds all forthright and such but it's not reflective of reality. Not all people have equal restraint. Not all people have the same tipping point. You can have a person who is an otherwise a pussycat lose his or her shit. And while I don't blame the victim, I've seen plenty of instances whereby people do everything they can to get the shit beaten out of them. That goes for men and women. Once you realize that the expectation of civility and the presumption of maturity don't create a magical forcefield around people, you really develop a deeper respect for cause and effect dynamics. That doesn't make it right or wrong. But right and wrong seldom have anything to do with it.

And for what it's worth, women provoke men all the time. People provoke people. It's an ugly part of humanity but it's humanity nevertheless. So that's not a valid argument.

@jojomunoz6562 if you go around provoking people, sometimes people oblige you. Welcome to reality

"... for years..." What, did he have you locked in a cage? Did you not have a bag to pack your shit in?

@youtou9407 my intent to get an answer to my question. Who willfully forfeits her own humanity and absorbs abuse? Maybe she's from Michigan 🤔

@em.415 that's not at all true. She always knew who he was. And holding someone responsible for what she does and does not do isn't blaming the victim. It's treating her as a peer. She's no more or less smart than me. But she still made a string of stupid mistakes. And she's paying for it. That said, he also made some vile mistakes. He'll pay for them now. But when and if she hooks up with yet another abusive man (which is extremely common), will you accuse me of blaming the victim in that instance too? Be honest.
