damn straight. call her whatever she asks to be called. she's distinguished herself by earning that title. call her what she tells you call her. no need to get so uptight about things but they should have called her "madame senator". call a lawyer "counselor", call a physician/surgeon/PhD/EdD "doctor", call an officer by his rank when applicable, call a judge "your honor", call a principal "principal". that's fair.

yes. bush stole 2 elections. but that's history. true, it wasn't worth it to stop the discussion. no, there's nothing implicitly disrespectful about "ma'am". but in the end, call the woman by the title she's earned: senator.
1
the general will extend that courtesy because he too is a professional. as a layman, you have that luxury. but what i'm saying as that 1st, as a human she deserves that respect. 2nd, as someone earned her post, she deserves that respect. you're allowed to dislike her. you're allowed your opinions about her policy or personality. but you still have to call her "senator". what do you call someone you don't like that has an MD? doctor.
1
i wouldn't say it's all about party.
1
nbc is a franchise. you must mean msnbc. nevertheless, you're not really supporting anything with that argument. nice try.
1
arrogant elitist? she's a senator for chrissakes. did she overreact? maybe. but address the woman like she prefers to be addressed. she's earned that much.
1
mate. there's nothing BUT evidence. but it doesn't matter. like i said, that's history. stop trying to revise what happened. there's a reasonb it happened in FL. there's a reason bush sued & took advantage of a supreme court that was mainly appointed by republican potus. he went outside the constitution; the supreme court's check or balance doesn't do that. there's a reason mike connell died on a runway in ohio on plane to DC where he was testifying. THAT'S EVIDENCE. the dupe is in your mirror.
1
that's very true. again, i think she may have overreacted. BUT, i'm just saying, call her what she wants to be called. she's earned it.
1
uh, nbc is a network. the LOCAL AFFILIATES own their stations. the franchise allows the AFFILIATES to buy certain shows. do you understand how broadcasting works? msnbc, a cable channel, is quite different from the larger broadcasting network. either way, none of this validates any nonsense about the "liberal media". either read the entire thread or stay out of arguments.
1
but when doctors are operating with theie colleagues, they're called "doctor". he's a colleague so he she call her "senator". yes, she's elected. that's all the more reason to address her by the title she's earned. does she need to get over herself? yes. but are you expected to call her by her title? hell yes.
1
if you're going to honestly tell me that the fact that a recount in bush's brother's STATE was incidental, you're worse than a dupe. you're a daft, dumbass, dittoheaded, dopey dolt.
1
she's at work. call her senator.
1
no, it's not a semantic argument. you can question her personality all you like but you can't question the office to which she's been elected. that's not a red herring argument at all. simply put, address her by the tile she's earned.
1
oh no, it's not an opinion. she's to be addressed as "senator"; she has, by hook or by crook, earned that. that's no "claim". the fact is, she's a senator. when W stole 2 elections, i called him president. i never begrudged him that because i didn't care for his policy. in fact, i faulted gore & kerry for not being on their games; politics ain't a pretty business. i'm simply saying that you're entitled to your opinion of her as a person. but she's due that modicum of respect.
1
no. she got elected. she earned the title. like i said, she was probably over the top. BUT, that doesn't change the fact that a measure of respect like addressing her as "senator". i'm sure every other senator is addressed as senator. every congressperson is address as such. you call a physician or surgeon "doctor". call her by the title with which she's distinguished herself. the world is already missing enough respect. that's the least a person can do.
1
but while you're talking about "real history" show me where abc (disney) is "liberal". since we're talking show me where any of those other agencies gave bush their stamp of approval. you can't & you won't. you made that bullshit up out of whole cloth. but since we're talking, tell me how mike connell died in a plane crash on a runway... when everyone else survived. don't worry, i'll wait.
1
how could 8yrs of a president for whom i didn't vote make me feel better? how couuld sour grapes after the inauguration of a new president make me feel better? you fucking idiot. for 1, no "liberal news agency" confirmed bush as winner, the fact is, it was a moot point after he got sworn in. but the fact still remains that he used his dad's supreme court to stop a lawful recount AND mike connell died before he was going to testify before congress. nuff said.

in court you say "your honor" or "judge". in a hospital, you say "doctor" or "nurse". at a university you say "dean", "doctor" or "professor". when talking to police, you call then "officer". she wants a formal address, give her a formal address. why is that so difficult for you?
