@AeSaar There's an estimated 12M Mormons in America. I dare say Romney's got some juice if he ever wanted to call on it. Hell, he sure had a solid voting block. Huckabee's problem was that he let his opposition with Romney become adversarial as opposed to be politically competitive (if all those $20 words make any sense). Sure, I see some people at Beck's rally but I don't see them voting for his crazy ass. I guess I'm a hard seel on Beck because he's SO dishonest & he's SO dumb. Y'know?

@qhairful That requires THINKING. I'm not sure Beck has that capacity.

Glenn Beck is a racist? Who knew? Who knew?
1
@AeSaar Exactly. He'd have to imply something base on no empirical data. He's an idiot. There's no questioning that. But I'm not sure even HE would leave himself that vulnerable. I'm a dumbass on the internet & even I can peep game. Cam you imagine what someone who's smart with an actual voice would do with that? I used the example about the Million Man March because there's no questioning that those were Black men. But he didn't use any video of THAT. Guess why? 'Cause we picked up our trash.

@AeSaar Of course there's veiled racism. Of course Beck does it often. It's just that I'm not sure if Beck's doing it here. I say that mainly because we'd have to presume that most of the crowd (an estimated 1.8M) at the inauguration was Black. Beck can't generate any real data about that because there is none. Not that he's above lying but I don't think even HE is that dumb. So I'm inclined to give him a pass here. Or maybe I'm so numb to his act that this doesn't bug me like it should.
1
@Mika20 I thought they estimated 1.8M. Yes 200K people is statistically significant here because that'd be 40% of Beck's crowd if we compare raw numbers. And given Beck's track record, it's not hard to think he might be saying something racist. But give him a pass here because I can't prove anything.

@Dominick629 It's borderline here. We can't read Beck's mind but we know the things he intimates. Strangely enough, he didn't say a thing about how the mall looked after the Million Man March. I can tell you personally that we were very particular about picking up after ourselves before we left for RFK. In fact, there was an announcement made about it. Then again, there was enough cash flowing at that rally to pay a crack squad of cleanup men & women. Maybe that's what happened.

@Prepared2Survive In the 21st century racism still exists my friend. If you think otherwise I recommend you get out more. And spare me the nonsense about "the Black Americans". For 1, we aren't a monolith. For 2, no 1 has asked any of our leaders what our group needs or wants. Hell, we can't even get a truthful depiction of Middle Passage & slavery in history books. Nor can we get an apology. Move forward? Sure. But tell the truth about what happened & apologize.
1
@Prepared2Survive Not all of it; I have a life. But I certainly saw Alveda King. And if you don't believe ministers or activists are on the take, you're confused. But most of all, ANY Black person who thinks Beck's agenda is in step with the concerns of Black Americans is lost.
1
@AeSaar I don't know if he's a truly "good" propagandist. I just think he's well tooled by FNC & I think his audience isn't as well educated as the audiences of yester. But you're probably correct about him trying to make indirect attacks. But I also believe he's making a potpourri of the "liberal" & "Black" agendas too. Yes. He's that confused about it all. Cocaine's a helluva drug.

@Prepared2Survive Let's face it. Beck is paid not for being accurate or insightful but being outrageous. That's been his act since he was a schockjock in the '80s. Let's be extremely clear about that. So it's intuitive that he'll stoke any fire & hit any nerve at his disposal. It keeps people watching & it keep neo-cons feeling like they're relevant. And Alveda King never impressed me much as any kind of activist. Would she sell out for cash? Sure. I think there's tons of examples of sellouts.

The last time I looked, part of the liberal ethic was recycling & resource conservation; y'know racing to save the planet & all that groovy shit. So how in the hell could Beck be making up this nonsense? Or is he saying that Black people litter more? Because there were more Black people at the inauguration therefore they littered more? But here's my question: Since Beck is all about small biz & all against big gov't, did he pay a cleanup crew or did he let the Parks Dept. pick up the trash?
1
@Prepared2Survive King's niece was probably paid to be there. And hundreds of Black Americans confirms nothing, There's 100's Black Americans in jail. So what?
1
@AeSaar But again, I have to say that have to look at Beck's audience. With the advent of globalization & web access, you'd think people would be better educated & more informed. But in truth, people are being reactionary because they fear Huxley's "Brave New World". Beck plays on that fear. I guess I'm saying that it doesn't take a lot of prowess to perform Beck's act.
