@bluedollars Not ALL businesses. In fact, the reason that NFPs & Co-Ops report less tax is because they re-invest then share what would otherwise be capital gains. Co-Op & credit unions' goals aren't to compete with Chase. They want to smaller communities. That's why they didn't get stuck with toxic assets during the housing crisis. YES, they have stricter investment practices. That's part of why they stay in the black and on the up & up.

@bluedollars A co-op isn't designed or operated on the need for profit. A co-op is works on the premise of being a self-sustained entity. They succeed all the time. And no, it won't cut down on the number of businesses. The last time I looked, revenue-sharing (profit-sharing that gets reported as payroll at the end of the fiscal year) is 1 of the best business incentives there is. Correct me if I'm wrong but co-op banks & credit unions have always been relatively strong.
