I didn't say they were bad. I asked if more violence is the way to deal with violence. I sure don;t think it is.

You've watched too many episodes of MacGuyver.

When my parents moved out the 'hood, it was called moving. Anything else you're saying is nonsense.
1
I've already told you that you can't talk anymore.
1
Yes. It's not worth fighting bullshit when you can just as soon move someplace safer.
1
You're not allowed to talk anymore.

Dude a home in Mexico goes for about $11K. And a Kalashnikov goes for about $800 on the border & you still need ammunition to fight a war. You can use google. I give you that. But you evidently haven't spent much time in Mexico. You'd rather run around with a gun pretending to be a badass. 'Mericuh!
1
If you have money for guns & ammo, oyu got money to move.

My argument wasn't an appeal to authority. You proposed something about my familiarity with Mexico, I set you straight. That's not hypocrisy. And my argument was that people go different places to outrun poverty. My own parents moved out of the hood when they had the chance. Your own debate skills are lacking because you fail to address the argument. Let's be honest, if you have to look up "ad hominem", you don't have any business debating. You're out of your depth.
1
To the contrary, I'm very familiar. I lived in a tent in Rosarito & walked across the Border to my job in Imperial Beach 5days/wk for almost a year. It was awesome. And yes, the problem IS the 'hood. Yes you can CAN get away from poverty. That's the American way. That's why some many Mexicans jump fences & swim across rivers. Why don't you guys get that?
1
So you're using the old appeal to authority fallacy now? You actually did it twice. Then you garnished that failburger with an ad hominem. I guess that's your way of doubling down instead of presenting a real argument. So tell me again how more violence stops violence... oh yeah. It doesn't. You're brilliant.
1
I guess you haven't spent much time in Mexico.
1
No. History has shown that violence has been used. Because I use pliers or visegrips doesn't mean a wrench wasn't a better tool. Because a person uses brute force doesn't mean reason wasn't adequate or suitable. And yes, you can extinguish fire by squelching its fuel. But you can't kill a fire with more fire. Right?
1
I didn't say they were mutually exclusive (although it may have looked that way). Butlet's be honest, the real problem isn't people fighting over demand of drugs. The veigilantes are responding to the people who are trying to control supply. You make it legal, you automatically reduce the premiums set on supply. You won't need guns & more violence in an already violent setting. Also, the notion of being able to fight violence with more violence is dumb. You fight fire with water; not more fire.

When facts don't support, you use platitudes about black & white? M'kay.
1
How is it legitimate? Rhetoric is rhetoric. Reality is reality. Picking up a gun instead of working to change legislation? Are you high too?
1
Yeah. You're right. America in its entirety is JUST like Mexico's border. Are you high?
1
Because we have drug cartels in the US? M'kay. You can't talk anymore.
1
You're really going to use THIS as an argument for assault weapons in AMERICA? Are you high?
1
You wouldn't be lying to me. Would you?
1
That's a path to hell. When did you get your good-intentioned steamroller?
1
Call the cops. Move to a better neighborhood. This paramilitary nonsense ain't making nobody safe.
1
Dude, you think $5K ain't enough to move in MEXICO?
