@mma171 Lmao. Not an intellectual issue? You're hysterical. So having a phobia (an irrational predisposition against something; a prejudice if you will) isn't stupid? "It's simply just a natural way to increase the odds of acquiring limited resources for yourself & those that share your genetics". So selfishness based on haplogroups isn't dumb? It's NOT intuitive to simply take only what you need & leave the rest so it doesn't get wasted? I thought wasting finite resources was COUNTER-intuitive.

@mma171 What's a fear? A trepidation or apprehension. If all human beings are indeed the same then it's not intuitive to have that apprehension or trepidation based on race UNLESS it's a function of irrationality.

@matrix13thfloor Really? Show me. Also show me how 100 is statistically significant in a country with 308M people. Duh.

@mma171 (cont'd) My premise is that it's irrational to act on haplogrouping because that is too subtle a difference to act upon. Therefore, I postulate that it's a phobia that causes racism. THAT phobia is the criterion for discrimination. In truth, you'll probably relate to someone less intelligent than you, rather than relate to someone like me, simply because he's White. Don't act like you don't know what I mean.

@Gulfporter Nonsense. Cenk is just talking about it. At the end of the day, we need to have these discussions if we ever plan on eradicating racism. It IS an issue if the school is teaching kids that rigging ballots based on race is appropriate. You're damned right we need to talk about that shit.

@Gulfporter That's bullshit. That's also unconstitutional. But I like how you made that out of whole cloth. There's a difference between legal gerrymandering & telling a Black student that there's a glass ceiling on his/her student gov't aspirations. Whole cloth indeed. When all else fails, just lie? Maybe you'd do well in politics. I digress. There's no validation you can present that tells me it's okay to educate kids that way. None at all. That's why it IS an issue.

@hellshade2 Consider the context. I'm not sure but it seems to me that this was an attempt to address the population ratios during the early integration years. C'mon, this is Mississippi we're talking about here. There's a high school in MS that just had its 1st integrated prom in 2008. That said, you're correct that the superintendent needs to be relieved of his/her duties if that policy isn't removed from the school's charter post haste. OF COURSE it's wrong. Antiquated perhaps, but wrong.

@mma171 You're sidestepping my premise. You said race was a moral criterion. You also said that that is intuitive people provide for them & theirs. BUT you implied that "them & theirs" is a race-based principle. Stop waffling. We all know that every human being is unique. That's obvious & you're using that fact as a non sequitir. The fact that people share haplogroupung was your reason for members within said haplogroup protecting the interests of others in said haplogroup. (cont'd)

@Gulfporter I know a White person is safer in a Black neighborhood than a Black person is in a Black neighborhood because I've not only seen the DofJ data, I've lived in Black neighborhoods & had White friends visit & even be roomies. I'm not talking about a Black person walking through a White neighborhood at all. That's YOUR strawman. A Black person walking through a White neighborhood DOES get victimized though. I get hassled by cops too often simply because I live in a nice neighborhood.

@mma171 An irrational predisposition IS a phobia because race is not a rational reason to be predisposed to someone. Dumbass. And your question doesn't even deserve an answer. It was also some dumbass shit.

@Gulfporter It's no meme. The SCHOOL designed the policy. It wasn't a result of a referendum that Blacks voted on. It's the SCHOOL. This needs to be taken up with the SCHOOL. You're trying to blame Blacks for something instituted by the SCHOOL. That's ridiculous. Don't blame Rachel. She didn't break the story. The Smoking Gun did if you're keeping score. But ultimately we couldn't even talk about it if the SCHOOL hadn't done it in the 1st place.
