  1. Why because he's not jumping on the nanny-state bandwagon? Say what you want but there's something to be said for taking care of yourself. If you had a choice, would you A, use solar, wind & hydro sources for electricity or B, let someone else be responsible for paying your light bill knowing there's a risk that the support system can fail at 1 time or another? I bet you'd choose A because it says something about ownership. That's what Rolltider357 is saying.

  2. Horseshit. A team moves in unison. If a flag gets thrown for a false start, EVERYBODY has to move back 5yds. If 1 guy jakes it in practice, we ALL run laps. The placekicker may hit or miss a point but the whole team wins or losses. Learn something about the word "team". There are no exceptions for academic or citizenship eligibility. You wanna be on the team? You live & die with them. That's the discipline.

  3. He makes a fair point. Kids do need to learn to stand up for themselves. Society ain't so nice all the time & it's the job of the strong to protect the best interests of the vulnerable (or at least not prey on them). BUT, people have to learn some degree of self-sufficiency. What happens to the kid who runs to his mother every time something ain't going his way? I'll tell you, he never learns independence; he becomes a pussy.
