  2.  @themiddlekingdom9121  They've already banned youtube, facebook, google, X, instagram etc in China and we're only talking about 1 stupid company here and everyone is all up in arms. The reaction of China is so disproportionate to what's happening its hilarious and sad at the same time. They need to get over it and stop being so petty. They make decisions all the time on the basis of "national security" why can't the US do the same?

  3.  @orbitalpotato9940  "You can still access western sites in China via VPN and it's not illegal to do so" - Umm yes it is. They might allow you a bit of leeway if you are a foreigner but local Chinese will be punished by law if they are caught using a VPN. Only state sanctioned VPN access is allowed and you have to be working for China's propaganda department to do so.
