Same thing kind of happened to my dad. He knocked up a woman who was his then gf and he felt obligated to marry her, but after her ridiculous demands and the fact that she wanted a lavish wedding, she wasn't going to have it any other way. When she expressed her desires in front of my dad and grandmother, my grandmother grabbed my dad by the wrist and basically whispered "if she doesn't want it any other way then so be it, there isn't going to be a wedding" - Best decision ever made. Woman was a headache and nobody in my dad's family liked her.

I went out with a woman who was interested in me. I tested this theory. She didn't care which restaurant we went to, she was happy to oblige so I took her to cheap sushi. I also made the dumbest jokes that would put off anyone with half a brain (on purpose) and she found them all funny even slapping my arm as she laughed. If a woman is into you, there's little to no effort involved.

When girls go for the bad boy types, it says a lot more about the women than the men they want. But general rule of thumb, women like masculine men, and "bad boys" often exhibit those traits. Lots of times "nice guys" don't give of strong masculine energy and it shows in their physicality as well (ie doesn't go to the gym).
