@nacholibreri Who are the CCP? Are they not of the people? Were they not the ones who usurped power from the previous government and decided that they would determine how things in China would be? The hell are you talking about disinformation? What did they change? They made everything state owned and a lot of Chinese people were OK with that because they were dirt poor to begin with. So in essence, the Chinese people did not gain anything long term from them. There is no rationale when you are poor and see no end to your suffering. I'm talking about psychology here. Did you see footage of Mao addressing the people during the cultural revolution? Thousands if not millions of people paid homage to him. And we eventually found out what kind of man he was after millions of Chinese died due to his horrendous domestic policies. Going back to what I said, where was the common sense when this was all happening? Oh right, they got rid of all the intellectuals and scholars who were the light of reason in the country. Couldn't this have been prevented? Probably not. You have a poor working class population who sought to gain power by any means and they did to the detriment of everyone else. So yes, I AM blaming the people who supported this revolution. The mob mentality of the stupid and deranged. They're all "heart" and no brains.

@CristianNazare Dictatorships always come about from revolutions. This is literally recorded all throughout history. Remember Napoleon? What about Lenin? to name a few. This phenomenon has always existed because everyone gets overly emotional without figuring out how to fix the system itself. So if a country is in a state of chaos off course a strong willed individual with a "can do" attitude is going to be attractive to ruling a country. That's when you should be scared because authoritarianism becomes a very attractive alternative. It's always about the never ending "struggle" for them which aligns perfectly with communism. That's what China eventually became.

@joseph1150 China has always had a history of tyrannical leaders. That's why dynasties have come and gone. Even under the KMT China was corrupt and just as bad as it is today. Only difference is Chinese people were allowed to own land.

@andrewtaylor940 A lot of analysts have looked at the numbers and have come to the conclusion that China's population is actually 1.2 or even 1.3 billion. 1.4 billion is actually a stretch given that they over counted and one child policy essentially screwed them for generations to come.

@joseph1150 Read "Ways that are dark: The Truth About China" By Ralph Townsend. He talks about his experiences in 1930s China when the KMT were in power. If you read the book you will understand that China has always been the chaotic mess it is.
