My great nephew ( his name is Bryan also) killed a man, and when my sister (his grandmother) called to tell me, the very first thing she said was
"Sister, are you close by?, I need you, now".
She would not tell me over the phone. And 20 minutes later, I was at her house and then we were both crying. Knowing we were going to lose him, and for the victims family.
He got life. And 10 days after he was sentenced , my sister just fell over dead.
7 months later our Mother grieved herself to death.
People that kill others, don't know what they do to their families. And the victims family.
May God rest the souls of Ethan, Xana, Kaylee and Maddie. And wrap every family member in His loving arms.

The victim, is Randy Young. 45 years old. Father and Grandfather.
Shot and killed over an argument about a parking space.
In front of his 80+ year old Father.
Bryan is serving life for it. But. There truly is no justice for the victims family.
Even though Bryan is in prison, he's still here, he's still living. We can visit him. Send him money, exchange texts and emails. The victims family has to visit him in a cemetery.
That's not justice. That is not justice.
As harsh as this may sound, i am a firm believer in the death penalty. The taking of a life, in my opinion, requires the criminal to give theirs . I love Bryan. And It's a hard road to walk, when your beliefs come up against your own family. But.
I believe it with all my might. And the only reason Bryan did not get the death penalty, is because the victims family asked that his life be spared. In the emotional pain they were in, they still asked. They did not have to. And for that, I am grateful to them.
They showed compassion, where they had been shown none.
