  1.  @bossshxtonly  you're absolutely right. I got lost in the Burroughs, off Finley looking for one of my kids that had broke down, on his way to work. I just pulled in a vacant parking lot,, and I saw 6 young men, all strapped, across the street. I kinda hollered "could Y'all help me, please "? And all 6 walked over and said "sure Mama, what is it you need help with"? I Told them and I said "I can't find that address, that road "Y"s off and the GPS says nothing" one young man said "oh. I know where you're trying to get to, its just a few blocks, we will walk you there if you want us to, because where you are , it's a 8 block turn around because of the one way streets" I Said "would you?! I would be so thankful "! One young man said "lock your car up, and we'll be glad to walk you". I locked it up and while we were walking there , a Bham cop pulled up and asked if I was ok ( 1 older white woman and 6 young black men all strapped with semi autos I reckon I looked out of place) one of the young men said "she alright. We're helping Mama find her son.. you can follow if you want to,, but she's ok" I smiled and said "oh yeah, I'm fine"... cop went on and we all talked and Laughed as we walked....3 blocks later we found my kid and the 6 young men helped us get it started and we all got in and took them back to where they started and me to get my car. I tried to pay them for their help and they refused. That same cop, stopped me on the way out of the Burroughs, and he said "the kids you were walking with are some of the most dangerous gangs around" I said "well evidently, a little respect goes a long ways,, and I'm not an enemy now, am i"? He shrugged and walked off. I went to the corner store and bought 6 Gatorades, (it was a hot day) and 6 packs of smokes, just in case, (I smoke, they might too you know?) I took it back and they thanked me and I got 6 hugs. You never know where respect and kindness is appreciated. I sure did appreciate it! They did too. Be kind. Be respectful. We are ALL on the grind these days.
