  2. Other industries are picking up software approaches and tools. This is really like a version control system for buildings - amazing in one sense that it isn't being used by everyone already.

  5. At the high end people do all sorts of interesting buildings now but at the low end I get the general impression that there are not really enough skills. If you want to get work done in the UK - like fixing your house or whatever - it's easy to find people who know how to build with bricks, who can fit gas-boilers, plaster walls, whatever. There's a standard set of parts and skills that is copy-n-paste from the traditional library. Who can build you an aircrete building or put in an air source heat pump or whatever? It is hard to be different. Hence I think that there has to be some very determined attitudes to training and legislation to get the part of the country that is not living in skyscrapers to partake a bit more of modern ideas.
