Few people understand how the things in their supermarket get there and yet they are asked to vote on issues that greatly affect the whole process. It's obviously a recipe for trouble.

@argus0ia I think you're right but the more people who've been to university the better the quality of the misunderstanding IMO :)

@wohdinhel I'm, from Zimbabwe where there was a one-party state for a time and people called each other comrade (as long as they were the right colour). So no I don't think it's worth trying to use Brexit as an issue to fight your old war. This is not about that ideological battle at all.

@mogznwaz You all misinterpreted me. People who have done higher education have that much better chance of realising that they don't know everything because education shoves it in your face again and again that the amount there is to know is a lot more than what you know. Not everyone is "saved" but there's just a higher chance.

@mogznwaz the word communism doesn't seem relevant anymore. There are no communists left. It seems to be one of those extreme exaggerations that is used to describe anyone who isn't a racist, xenophobe or mysogenist.

@mogznwaz well, obviously people with big commitments to a certain viewpoint won't let anything influence them.

@mogznwaz Usually people start off with narrow preconceptions and try to travel and get educated to widen their view so they essentially see things and understand the world in a way they couldn't before. It's fairly obvious that we start of knowing nothing and will continue to fail to understand the world if we don't make an attempt to learn. Some learning is very uncomfortable and there's a great temptation to reject it totally. Some information that shakes one's own view of oneself, one's own origins etc for example.

@anamarvelo That's why a) they should not be elected frequently b) the "commons" as we call them in the UK do their best to take all power away from the representatives (house of lords in our case).

@loc4725 before the UK was one unit the bits fought each other. The way to resolve a problem was to fight. Integration is just a way to solve problems and provide normal, relatively cheap ways of doing it by having common laws.

Macavity hope the insults made you feel better. If you ever allow yourself to realise what you voted for then you will feel worse than any insults I can think of.
