@robertdug495 Those are all comforting thoughts so you should reject them. Most of what you do while your vehicle charges is sleep. Power can come from coal one day and wind the next and an electric car will instantly become cleaner but your ICE car won't.

The public rewarded those that did lie. The public like lying to themselves to a degree.

@adoatero5129 Since I worked at Symbian I got the impression that criticism was always about "Symbian" and praise was always about "S60" (the huge pile of crap built ontop by Nokia). This idea of creating a new OS was really a huge distraction from the real problems: making too many phone models with too cheap components. When there are many different devices there get to be lots of bugs which the software has to fix and there isn't enough memory on the device or the GPU or whatever because Nokia wants to make $1 extra profit per phone. Nokia's idea about how to work didn't change with Maemo or Meltemi really. Same stupid way of selling phones and a new piece of software from Trolltech to eventually screw up.

@MarkLaw-xy9vf I think we should just ask you to show us the money. All your slogans: what do they add up to?

@MarkLaw-xy9vf Wheas in Westminster virtue signalling has made way for full on culture wars. i.e. lack-of-virtue signalling.

That is a comforting thought but I think the quality debate was shown with phones to be a losing argument. These new cars are computers on wheels and get loved by their owners in the same way that people loved the first Apple phones. This is not about interior quality anymore really.
2
The problem is that while you're having that debate some other people have decided where the market is going.

What interestt does Telsa have in saving German jobs? 0

China is investing an extremely large amount in electric cars and their market is growing the most so it's the most important place to win with the most significant competition. That doesn't stroke the Telsa-fan's ego perhaps.

.... hope you enjoy your socialist benefits like holidays and free healthcare ... if you live in such country that is.

It's quite easy to close petrol stations. If you want energy independence buy solar panels. I think the real reason for electric is that they see an opportunity to get ahead of every other country.

It has seen a lot in the centuries and to your horror it will get along just like the US has done.

@entropic8708 I think not but what's the solution ? For all the people in the US to go back to their grandparent's country of origin? Leave the land free and empty ? :-)

Thank you DW! I love your documentaries. I don't know if you think of this as a compliment but they remind me of the wonderful Transtel programmes that I used to watch when I was younger.

No evidence.

So the new way to assasinate someone will be to throw a child-sized mannequin into the road in front of their car.
1
@PRtawan Hopefully it won't have you in it then.

Why? Is it German?
1
@leoprg5330 You're all benefiting from China's hard work at the moment - and its lack of human rights.
