  1. The danger here is that the Jazz is extremely reliable, enjoyable to be inside, conveniently small on the outside and huge on the inside. German cars are not reliable by comparison. To compete, manufacturers have to push their cars as status symbols....but the new status symbol is a Tesla.....

  2. There's a top-end of the market and all companies are going to want to own that because it's very profitable for a lower investment. A company that does well in that space will have more borrowing power for its investment in mass market cars. In Mercedes case it split off its research and development arm into Continental and a Continental computer is in the VW ID.3 and ID.4 so I think that investment at the top really does filter down.

  3. I think we've heard a lot of FUD about the software and no specific complaints so far. What can any company do but refute such vagueness and what good does it do to repeat rumour? As for kmh versus mph........oh dear.
