  2. A lot of your current wealth depends on providing security to other countries in return for which you get access to their markets and they don't shut down your monopolies. If you take the benefit out of the equation, it will be China that walks in as it is already doing.

  6.  @ianroy6668  I am a fanboy of all these things - I read up about them and I really was a huge fan of Reaction Engines. We just cannot afford to shoot ourselves in the foot economically. We can't afford the luxury of saying FU to some Europeans just because we don't like "being DOMINATED by the EUSSR" or any of that horse dung. The real enemy is arseholes who want trade wars or wars and want to pick off European nations one at a time.

  9. @ I'm sure we won't unless your leaders are as dumb as you but having forward bases is a thing you want - to spot missile launches, to gather intelligence, to defend your imports. If you're very stupid you'll ensure that your next war gets fought at home instead of far away.

  10.  @LeukipposOfAbdera  Our largest trading partners aren't the US. We trade amongst ourselves far more. As for defence, it cuts the west into 2 so it's that much smaller facing China and Russia. It's so transparently stupid ... well what can I say - I'm from Zimbabwe originally and I know very well that stupid people just don't ever learn.
