How many people are upset by those statues? Are you? Is anyone still experiencing Roman oppression and racism ? Your argument is quite pathetic. As for the ottomans I think that they are already well disliked in some places and people in those places have probably removed the reminders they most object to.

Because they are doctors and scientists who rely on data and follow the scientific method unlike you who are just some random person on the internet with an opinion who is too frightened to use your real name.

@Caveat Emptor The great thing about it is that they don't have to walk around with that bastard looking at them as if nothing was wrong about it. As for evidence....that statue is evidence of nothing and serves no useful purpose.

well, now there's a bit of history about how the statue got into the sea. Divers can show people around it and they can learn about the 21st century.

@Andrew Lee as others say, scientists don't believe things till they're proven and even then keep an open mind whereas you think you know stuff but whether you are right or wrong is just chance.

The scientific method allows hypotheses, theories etc to be modified by new, verifiable data. Your conspiracy theory-mind is the opposite - it's like some primitive tribal superstitious throwback.

Here you type into a phone or computer provided by science, probably you have been saved from many different horrible illnesses that people suffered in the past but for some reason the science and medicine the made the world safe for you isn't to be trusted. A caveman with a phone basically.

I could rewrite your sentence about some drug lord or whatever - causing misery far away and ingratiating himself with people at home who also turned their eyes away from the misery for the sake of handouts. 100s of years make no difference to what's right in the bible. It's pretty disgusting really and long past time that the people who benefited from all that disgusting behavior did the least little thing to pay back their victims. It makes the whole ruckus about a bit of illegality quite hypocritical.
