  3. IMO Religion is a way to get people to behave properly who cannot think how to do so for themselves. You can see how it's not all that successful.

  4. It might not be the education itself but just the chance to meet a lot of people from other places. On the other hand I think university does make you realise that life is more complicated and difficult to understand than it looks and that "common sense" doesn't work or isn't sufficient to understand things.
