  9. I’m less than two weeks shy of 57, my friends, and I have something to say, a comparative view of what is and what should be. I’ll start with what “should be”. This is for those younger than me. And for those older than me, correct me if I’m wrong. Bear with me here, please. What makes our country, the United States great is that we aim for prosperity, freedom, happiness, and tranquility. It is that last component, tranquility that we often overlook as being an essential part of the former virtues/rights. Our country does its best when we are at a tranquil… steady state, for all you ecologist and environmentalists out there, you know what I’m talking about. For instance: After the Revolutionary War we edged forward in making our country grow while under a somewhat “tranquil” time. After the Civil War our country took an evolutionary step forward during a tranquil time called the Industrial Revolution. We see this same pattern happen time and time again after WWI, WWIi, the Korean War, a little bit after the Vietnam War (Piss-off, oil embargo), and again after the Cold War. I like to compare our country, the US, to an elderly married couple, who have weathered the tests of time. Sure, there are times when through the course of their marriage there were tumultuous times, but hard work, respect, compassion, understanding, empathy, and love formed the glue or fabric that held them together. And when there were tranquil times all those virtues made the marriage even stronger. And this is just the family nucleus of it all. This same aspect applies to one’s neighbors/neighborhood, town, city, county, state, and yes, even our nation. It even applies to military combat units. We fight how we train, and every person needs to be on the same page. There is no room for conscientious, objectors, who can bring down moral and compromise a mission and get you and everyone else killed. And that my fiends, is where our country needs to be more than ever. What is, is what we have now. Three dip shits and a bunch of weenie sycophants in Congress and in the Supreme Court who bow on vended knee to a narcissistic, sociopath, hell bent on turmoil, instability, and chaos, who are void of any of the fore mentioned virtues. If it were a marriage, it would be destined for divorce. Trump and his henchmen are instilling division and dissension in the ranks, and among our allies on the world stage. Our country, America is not at a tranquil, steady state currently.
