If I was a lawyer I'd be all over that Brock case for a lawsuit against the officer and the department. Was Mr. Brock wrong for getting out of his car? Yes. However, the officer was behaving aggressively from the start. The officer reached out to grab Mr. Brock before ever asking or explaining why he was being pulled over. This is a clear cut case of the officer violating Mr. Brock's Miranda Rights. All that hostility and abuse from a law enforcement "peace"officer for a mere air freshener. How many times have you, me, we seen an officer talking or texting on their cell phones? Um, yeah. Lead by example, ay?! I can't imagine what that officer would have done had Brock had a tail light out. Perhaps he would have shot him to death. The officer was obviously angered during the previous altercation, and more so after seeing the obscene gesture from Brock, which would stand to reason why the officer acted aggressively and abusively toward Brock. I believe it also reasonable to say that a middle finger gestured outside of a car window is easier to spot than a nearly invisible air freshener hanging from a rearview mirror from inside a car driving by across the street is.
