What you and many people across America fail to realize is that high food and gas prices are a direct result of forced inflation brought on by increased wages, primarily the minimum wage increases, and by greedy conglomerates/corporations price-gouging consumers in lieu of the wage increases. If anything, it is Congress that has any kind of control over inflation.
