Thank you! I agree. I've been preaching this for a long time.
Our education system is primarily based on a cookie cutter system, a production line that pushes core curriculum on our students.
Our schools have done away with essential courses in building trades, business skills, civics, directed reading, drafting, economics, geography, home economics, humanities, automotive, metal, and wood shops, science, as well as social studies.
We need a strong skilled labor force for our future and our childrens' future. There is currently a high demand for skilled labor (trades) jobs across the U.S. and abroad, as well as jobs in the customer service and relations field.
So yeah, I hear you, and I'm with you on that.
