  5. Let me remind America that Trump was being investigated by the DOJ long before Biden took office. So Pences's statement is false and without merit. I believe the real reason why many in the GOP side with Trump and accuse the DOJ of a political witch hunt is because they actually have something to hide. If Trump gets incarcerated then that leaves the potential for many GOP members to be investigated on corruption charges. By backing Trump in court they protect their own interest.
