  1. Actually, it's common practice to leave school doors unlocked during hours of operation. It's a safety and fire hazard to have doors locked during building occupancy.

  3. Yeah, I mean, what is the likelihood of someone entering a school with a knife or baseball bat and causing mass casualties with those weapons, as oppose to an assault rifle? Assault rifles are designed to do one thing, and one thing only; that is to ensure as many casulities in as little time as possible. They are weapons of WAR, not of home defense or hunting. There is a big difference between an assault rifle and a Glock. Much like a butter knife to a steak knife. You can cut a steak with a butter knife but it is considerably faster and more effective to use a steak knife.

  4.  @patland1762  I find religion to be more toxic than helpful, overall. Yes, a church can be a refuge of hope and inspiration when one is down-and-out. However, if you look at the big picture; how many people over the course of history have needlessly died in the name of religion in wars and atrocities?

The irony of it is that the GOP is full of conniving, corrupt, lying, self-serving law makers who are supposedly Bible-thumping Christians, but much like the Bible scriptures are hypocrites, Their actions contradict most all of the scriptures.They preach one thing but turn around and say or do just the opposite. They are a disgrace to American democracy. Though, I do realize they are representative of their constituents, which leaves a lot to be said about their constituents. They don't hesitate to strip away the Constitutional and civil rights of women - to do what they want with their own body; the right to freedom and preservation. The conservatives believe that the right of a fetus takes precedence over the rights of a woman, even when underlying medical conditions or concerns involving the best interest and health and safety of the mother or child is back by a doctor's or physician's advice. Yet the right wing nuts don't hesitate to preach their rights to bear an AR-16-style assault rifle in case they have an urge to shoot a herd of dear or children in a classroom, they can do so.
