@TheOleHermit How incredibly rude you are. Many students excelled in online learning during the course of the Covd-19 pandemic shutdown. Why? Because there was less crap being shoved down the throats of students, and teachers had more academic freedom to teach the essentials.
Look at all the elective classes being cut from the school curriculum across the country. Classes/courses such as building trades, wood shop, metal shop, home economics, drafting, music, typing, business skills, etc, have been cut from the curriculum. Many schools don't even offer geography, geology, social studies, civics, and humanities. So, you tell me? Is it kids nowadays? Is it the pandemic? Is it teachers? Or perhaps, is it the public school system and it's "No Child Left Behind"/Core Curriculum that is failing our children?
My generation grew up and learned in a school system that enabled you and I to communicate on a global interface via our cell phones, that three decades ago was unimaginable.
Also, in your generalization of the education system, it is wise to not combine primary education with secondary education, as many of the colleges and universities operate independently from state-run education systems.
Oh? And one doesn't need a PhD in childhood education to form an educated opinion. Much like one doesn't need to be ASA certified to work on his or her vehicle.
