I find myself always (99% of the time) late for appointments and even work. I don't intend to be late, I just wind up being late, even if I prepare three hours in advance. I have multiple projects that seldom get completed, collect books that I most likely will never get around to reading, and have a hoarding issue, but yet when I eventually "do" get around to doing something, such as making a pot of spaghetti or chili for the family it turns out as a masterpiece. I also excel at work, just not at home.

No doubt. I feel the same way. Have you found any medication that works effectively? I'm taking Prozac, which smooths over/calms my brain activity, so I can focus, much like being on cruise control - that's what I call it, but it doesn't give me the initial kick start to jump into action mode in the morning to complete "big" task/projects around the house. I feel Adderall may be a better, more effective prescription. Any thoughts from you or anyone else would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

@supskawt Spread thinner than the scrapings from a jar of Skippy on a slice of bread. That's how I liken it to.

@AlicesEntertainment YES! I can totally sympathize with you on that.

@googlesecurity2955 That's a tough one to answer, mainly because, although we do suffer from the same condition (ADHD), each individual is/can be different in what job works best for them. I've found that for me I have to have or be at a job where I "have to" stay hyper focused on otherwise shit just falls apart. So for me, I've been in the military, a warehouse man, truss fabricator/sawyer, and custodian. These jobs work for me because I can't stand being behind a register or desk - it's too slow and too boring. That being said, what works for me may not work for someone else. My advice, if you know what jobs "don't" work for you then find one that is the complete 180° opposite. Good luck and best wishes for you. Cheers. Peace. Namaste.
