To generate the same amount of electricity, a coal power plant gives off at least ten times more radiation than a nuclear power plant." - European Parliament question on waste, noting some uranium is captured from coal smoke, 4 Nov 2022, E-003567

, . . MY1204151 Abstract
Radioactivity exists everywhere in nature. We are exposed to intense and continuous natural
radiation coming from the sun, cosmic radiation, telluric radiation and even to the internal
radiation of our own body. The fly ash emitted from burning coal for electricity by a power plant
carries into the surrounding environment 100 times more radiation than a nuclear power plant
producing the same amount of energy. This paper presents the information of studies on the
radiological impact from airborne routine discharge of coal-fired power plants." - Concerning radioactive pollution of their immediate environment.
