  1.  @the_once-and-future_king.  Afaik heat detection is for sprinkler systems that can immediately cool the area with water, which might not be a good idea in a kitchen with burning grease, but by that point it's already on fire.

  2. I moved my kitchen optical detector from top of the cabinet to top of the fridge so it doesn't go off when i make a pancake.
