Canada should open more trade with California, Mexico, and even Argentina, etc. I went to Auldi's a couple weeks ago and fresh pineapples were 1.50 each, the next week was a sale so 99 cents each. My Canadian friends say that fruits and vegetables cost them an arm and a leg there. The first step is to make these foods affordable to the Canadians.

  8. The maximum slope for a ramp is 8% in the US (8' hight in 100' length, standard code). When I was in Architecture school, they made us use a wheelchair for 24 hours. I don't know what this is, but 8% is much too steep. It is a beautiful stair but I wonder how many broken ankles per week. This is a case of it "looking good on paper", but obviously doesn't work.

  13. Number one tip is don't buy anything from Black and Decker, their stuff is intentionally made to fail after very few uses and they make sure that there is no way that you can fix them. Think of all the small appliances and tools in the landfills just due to that.

  17. As a Floridian (I would say "American" since our country has no name) I am VERY impressed with this woman's journalism and report. I am ashamed to say we have no factual reporting in this country anywhere at least on TV. What a good idea she had to get the blonde Trainer lady, she knew her stuff about how the body metabolizes, etc., so she went to the best. This is not the yellow journalism with an the tone of some agenda, this girl thought this out and produced a unbiased, level headed presentation. She did some WORK and earned her pay. Here the news channels are told what to say verbatim from coast to coast. I will probably binge watch to get a little more informed!

  28. These stairs were an EXTREMELY expensive design error. To rip them out and rebuild would be insanely expensive, and wouldn't look good anymore, an elevator would be a fraction of the cost.

I am sure there are food trade taxes here in the US, but most states don't charge tax, (consumption tax) at the grocery stores. However clothes and cars and everything else (except medicine) has a 7% tax. So our governments have determined that fresh produce and medicine are BASIC needs, we need to demand reasonable affordable prices. Despite what they tell you, this is the reason we have guns! Our gun rights are to prevent the government from going against the will of the people. May I suggest that you get involved on a local level? Believe it or not, that is a beginning.

Our grocery stores charge top dollar but the "produce stands" are much cheaper and fresher, I have no interest in having all my apples and oranges to be the exact same size, don't matter to me! I guess there are some ways around this, just gotta know where to look.
