Germany is still buying Russian oil, just from India with a nice markup.

@flowpipe what part is bs? He shows his sources. Do you have any?

What a relief that the Fed will save us in a country with 1/5 below the already laughable poverty line and 600k homeless despite over 40% having one or more ft jobs.

Yes it will further crush the working class. That is a feature, not a bug.

I think this briansimon guy works for the u.s. treasury or something. He's all over the comments with the very sophisticated "nuh-uh" response.

We can always print money to make up for shortfalls in debt sales. But further erosion of Dollar value will accelerate dumping of treasuries and isolate the u.s. further. I'm thinking stagflation that makes the 1970s look like a walk in the park.

According to Elon Musk, the new Chinese EVs are "very, very good."

Thought they were in Mexico already. They are doing this in Vietnam in a big way. It has an added benefit of avoiding tariffs targeted at China. So good logistics, low labor costs, and an end-around protectionism might be the trifecta of foreign trade for China.

We all know the "overcapacity" is bs on every level. China's ev exports are lower than Japan, S Korea and Germany in real terms and especially on a per capital basis. China isnt even pricing EV exports for maximum market share. Ofc it's just another way to complain about trade surplus, which is not indicative of any kind of "unfair" trade practices but only an admission by the west that China's system is better at producing things the world (including the u.s.) needs but can't make.

All that hard work and productivity is just un- American.

It annoys me so much how clowns in the Trump admin blame our deindustrialization on other countries when it was actually engineered by parasites like Musk and Bill Gates, with the full support of every president since Clinton.
3
Particularly one with a trillion-dollar military budget and no domestic industrial policy. There's no intention to reindustrialize.

@jeremyheung6582 even better, someone good.
3
@LuisAldamiz yes ofc. That was always the plan.

Gas is $3/gal in the southeast and 4+ in the Pacific NW. I'm paying $14+ for 18 eggs. So, no. And it will get a lot worse.

@verypleasantguy his reporting seems pretty fair, albeit staunchly capitalist.

Recent reporting says China is more advanced than the u.s. in 53 of 61 key technologies, so who needs to catch up again?

China's response to the housing crisis illustrates perfectly how it supports its people as it supports the economy. Comparing it to Obama's handling of the 2007 crash is a case study of the failure of the takeover of government by capitalism.
