  6. The u.s. has had decades to invest in and develop all these industries but has rejected every opportunity to do so. While China innovated and built up its supply chain and manufacturing the u.s. downsized, outsourced and privatized every aspect in service of short-term private profits. Now it is complaining because China can make these products better, faster and cheaper.
