  1. Although the uninterrupted US 66 no longer exists, it wasn't "scrapped." Segments of it remain in use to this day. Some segments became one side or the other of I-40. What appears as "Business 40" on maps is, in many towns from OK to CA, signed as "Historic US 66." The main drag in Tucumcari is 66. Albuquerque's Central Avenue is also 66. You might need to get out more. :)
