Texas has an urban population of 24 million (out of more than 29 million statewide) people. "The middle of nowhere" CLEARLY does not mean what you think it means! 😂

@biocapsule7311 None of that makes sense nor is anything you asserted actually why public housing failed in the USA. It failed because city governments tore down poor but functional neighborhoods and erected massive superblocks of brutalist mid-rise and high-rise projects in the middle of the "employment deserts" that they created and then stacked poor people in them like firewood. They couldn't have been designed for complete failure any "better." Since then, we've implemented scattered-site affordable housing near employers and/or transit that connects to employers, which has been far more successful.

@ The OP was NOT talking about the politics, he was talking about the climate zone. You, in a stunning exemplification of a non-sequitur, brought politics into a completely nonpolitical comment thread. Why would I "still" be there? I've never lived there in the first place. Perhaps you should change your interest from "politics" to "reading comprehension." The evidence speaks for itself.

@ No, we are not. He asserted some truly insane things, such as "You build houses not to house people..." which makes no sense whatsoever. If people weren't buying houses for themselves or others to live in, NOBODY would be building houses because NOBODY would be buying them. He completely misunderstood and/or intentionally misrepresented my criticism of superblock public housing projects because he just wanted to brag about his tiny little authoritarian "paradise" while taking the piss on the West, about which he seems to know very little.
