According to NBC News: "He crossed the border illegally near McAllen, Texas, in March 2012 when he was 16 years old, according to documents posted on X by Attorney General Pam Bondi. From the border, Abrego Garcia made his way to Maryland to live with his brother, who is a U.S. citizen." As to what he did to deserve prison, that's NOT your concern nor mine. He's a Salvadoran citizen. Ask THEM why they locked him up!
