  1. The dumbest lie I've ever heard from an obese friend was that the steroids she was prescribed as part of her chemo regimen were making her fat. I probably shouldn't have asked her "Just how many calories are in those steroids?" because I already knew the answer was ZERO. I invited her to join me for low-impact exercise (mainly walking) dozens of times, but she declined every time. THAT is what was making her fat.
