@princedeucidius The cops DID release the above-noted description before 6:00AM this morning. USA Today left that little detail out. The only obvious racist here is YOU because "he who smelt it, dealt it."

Austin got Californicated.

@Ham_Strokers_Ejacula Austin is deep blue, genius.

@Ham_Strokers_Ejacula Correct. But cities are patrolled by CITY cops, and Austin is bright blue with a PD that's had its funding reduced, a girly-Mayor and City Council that encouraged homeless people to come set up campsites everywhere, and a million Californicators who fled the state they made unlivable only to vote for the same crap after moving here and driving real estate prices into the stratosphere. If you don't live here, you don't know squat about it.

Democratic city, genius.

@gadget_hack In a very blue city that encouraged a huge surge in its homeless population, dramatically reduced police funding, and has delayed graduation of the current trainee class at the police academy. The more you know...

@gadget_hack NOT what I said at all. To clarify the issue: By repealing the ordinance prohibiting public "camping" in order to pander to God-knows-who instead of actually DOING a damned thing to address the underlying causes of homelessness, our weak-sauce local government made it perfectly clear to the homeless population that they could set up encampments virtually anywhere, panhandle, steal from nearby cars and homes,, and harass women without consequence. The word spread and they swarmed here from other cities. Thankfully, a successful bipartisan initiative put Proposition B on the ballot - which passed in May, reinstating the public camping ban. Those lame apparatchiks did their best to slow-roll it but the enforcement phase is becoming effective in a few days. They're spending hundreds of millions to buy a few troubled hotels in which to house them. That is also not a great long term solution, especially if they burn themselves down like they did with so many of their encampments (one of which went up in smoke just a few days ago).

@princedeucidius You are SO insanely desperate to see racism everywhere that it appears to be a mental illness. That's very sad. You should seek professional therapy. I've lived in Austin for more than 35 years by my own choice and am not any sort of "winger." Here's my source: IT WAS ON THE 6:00AM KXAN NEWSCAST IN AUSTIN THIS MORNING! That's the left-leaning NBC affiliate's newscast, since you're obsessed with keeping score.

@Ham_Strokers_Ejacula It had everything to do with correcting your misinformation.

Did you even WATCH the video? Nobody died yet.

On the local news this morning, they said it was a young black male.
