@AmandaFessler You got that exactly backwards, much like the director. Heinlein had nothing to do with the script. The movie completely missed the mark. Everyone who read the book utterly HATED the movie. Major differences: The Bugs had starships and advanced weapons, just like the humans. The MI used powered armor, which was the coolest part of the book but completely missing from the film. Putting the welfare of home, friends, and family ahead of your own was what gained you citizenship. Taxpayers had the same rights as citizens except for the ability to stand for elected office and vote. There were multiple paths to citizenship, not just military service. Would you like to know more? Read the book. It's a classic.

@ericgrace9995 I thought the description sounded vaguely like the robot from "Forbidden Planet" but with a man inside, more flamethrowers, and lots of parachutes. :)

@alaricgoldkuhl155 Been a while for me, too. Even as a teen, I never bought that the "Fair Witness" thing could ever possibly exist. Especially if they're banging the attorney!
