@The00Dude Bravo! Spoken like a man who can't read or do basic math. Presidents don't create tax laws, the House does. The TCJA, according to publicly available data on the Treasury website, benefitted low- and middle-income taxpayers the most. High-income taxpayers received very limited benefits, comparatively speaking (largely due to the SALT limitation and elimination of Section 212 deductions).

@dangerousfables WHY is there a national debt? You know why -- but you intentionally left out that part. Deficit spending created the debt!

@dangerousfables I already pointed out (in another post in this thread) that the TCJA cut taxes for EVERYONE and benefitted lower income taxpayers far more than the wealthy, so I won't repeat it -- but that data is clearly presented on several government websites. Whether the tax cuts were a good idea in the context of a budget deficit and a snowballing national debt is another question entirely -- and a worthwhile conversation to have.

@PhoenixTower You clearly don't know how to read, perform basic math, or offer a rational counterargument, so you resort to childish, churlish name-calling. Your opinion is utterly inconsequential, and you will never have any positive contribution to offer humanity. Good luck with your meaningless existence.

@PhoenixTower You literally made that up. Are you off your meds?

@PhoenixTower Please produce any sort of evidence that I claimed to know "everything." I know finance and tax, which was the topic at hand. I will now ignore you and go to work because, unlike yourself, I do not have the luxury of "smoking every day" and insulting random strangers who weren't even talking to me because of deep-seated feelings of inadequacy.

@dangerousfables Most TCJA provisions expire at the end of 2025 unless Congress acts to renew or extend it. Except, interestingly enough, the reduction in corporate tax rates. I agree with your last point - the debt hurts everyone but not equally.
