@AliBhai-sl8gc Holy crap! EVERYONE who passed their high school US History class knows that California was a mythical island in a 16th Century Spanish work of fiction. To wit: "The state’s name is derived from a bestselling novel published in 1510. The book, “Las Sergas de Esplandián,” was written by Garci Rodríguez de Montalvo, who hailed from the historical Kingdom of Castile, located in modern-day Spain." There is some argument as to whether the etymology of the word derives from Arabic or FRENCH, so calling your assertion a "fact" is stretching it to the breaking point.
