What will really undercook your noodle is that, if you install a tankless water heater to save energy and also remodel your bathroom with new fixtures, you'll never feel the joy of hot water ever again. Tankless heaters need a decent flow rate to kick in and actually HEAT the water. This is a fair example of how self-appointed do-gooders completely lack any ability to think things through. I'm not saying I had my remodeling contractor rip the flow limiter out of my shower head, but I'm not saying I didn't. Draw your own conclusion.
