  1. You really need to actually WATCH these movies before writing your scripts. In TDA, a major plot point is that Kansas City got nuked, NOT Lawrence. Lawrence is where many of the surviving characters ended up because the University and its hospital were there. Another honorable mention is due to the made-for-TV movie "Special Bulletin," not because it was a great film or possessed ground-breaking effects but because it had a more realistic plot device (terrorists threatening to detonate a nuke on a boat in Charleston Harbor) than most of these other films. Spoiler alert: The terrorists were taken out but the bomb went off anyway because the NEST team trying to disarm it fumbled. An unexpected twist.
