The "no income tax" is true for individuals, BUT there is a state franchise tax (often acting as a tax on gross receipts) assessed on corporations, LLCs, certain partnerships, and some other entity types. The thresholds are fairly high, though, so your typical family-owned small business operating as one of the taxable entity types is probably going to fall under an exception to the franchise tax and only end up filing ownership reports instead of paying the tax. Even if your business gets stung by this tax, it's still much, MUCH less onerous than California's franchise tax!

  2. So many mistakes. First, you said "highways" but you seem to be focused solely on INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS. Those things are not always the same thing. Second, have you somehow never heard of the I-69 project? Third, ALL of Texas 130 was constructed within the past 15 years and it is entirely a new-terrain expressway. Very poor research. No like, no sub. Get your Sh*t together.

  3. It was already a freeway, they just re-signed it from US 190 to I-14. There are dozens of better examples in Texas alone.
