  1. Carpet is just nasty. I'm replacing mine with wood, tile, or laminate, with runners or throw rugs as needed for the usual barefoot hangouts and landing zones. My carpeted rooms have ten times thicker dust layers than my uncarpeted rooms. Just nasty!
