The story line involving Maureen was only SLIGHTLY more disturbing than Lazarus having a threesome with his own clone-daughters. He was clearly going for shock value...and he succeeded. Most of his fans were far more bothered by how disjointed and ridiculous "The Number of the Beast" was (at least he had an undiagnosed brain tumor to excuse that sloppy mess).
