@issahumps It is and it isn't. There are a lot of conservatives here, too, but they mind their own business and don't screech much. The liberals are noisy but mostly nonviolent. Extremists at both ends of the spectrum are not taken seriously. Most people here, as in most places, just want to work, have a little fun, and be left the hell alone.

At least my neighborhood traded in our do-nothing Dem councilman for a chick who knows how to put out fires! It's a start.

@issahumps Sounds about right. Portland was such a fun place to visit in summer 2003 that I went back for more a few months later. Good food, cool music scene, friendly people, convenient rail system. Sadly, I'm a bit reluctant to visit PDX again any time soon unless the local government gets a grip on their pet thugs.
