  1. I've noticed that you always mention the heat when you talk about Texas towns. Be warned, the towns in the Panhandle suffer some BRUTAL winter weather for a few weeks to a couple of months every year. They also experience tornadoes, haboobs and tumbleweed assaults.

  3. That's basically going to be the largest and most expensive cities but I, too, am interested in seeing how his list compares to mine. NYC, Boston, DC, Philly, Baltimore, Atlanta, Miami, Buffalo, Chicago, St. Louis, Portland OR, Seattle, San Francisco, Sacramento, central Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, SLC, Dallas, New Orleans, MSP, and Phoenix are all solid semifinalists. Charlotte, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Kansas City, OKC, Detroit, Houston, and Albuquerque deserve mentions, at least. This list is subject to change as new starts and extensions come online over the next several decades. To be fair, my list is based on cities with rail transit systems, most of which have very walkable CBDs.

  6.  @ladycactus110  I was merely clarifying why I put ABQ on my "mentions" list. Oddly enough, the presence of the RailRunner and BRT line(s) puts them ahead of a surprising number of cities of similar size. We are lagging behind much of the developed world when it comes to transportation choices although, as you pointed out, we are in the lead when it comes to conversational opportunities with ex-felons and the homeless. We're Number One! We're Number One!

  7.  @christianbrother4724  I remember it QUITE well, I assure you. My rental property was knocked completely out of commission from Aug 2017 until Jan 2019. Had to spend about 1/3 more than the insurance covered to bring it up to the new windstorm code. Ouch.

  14. As an American citizen, you have the right to live anywhere in the country. I'm not sure what political orientation you mean by "POC" since those are two different things. If you want a liberal city, the center of any large urban area (DFW or Houston) will do. If you want an uber-liberal city, consider Austin. You will not find a home for less than $200K in any of those places, which was the point of Briggs' list. Your little piece of liberal paradise will probably set you back more than $450K and the property taxes will really cream your corn. Austin, for example, just passed two multi-billion dollar transportation proposals that will improve public and alternative transportation options for all the people who will be unable to afford living here in order to use them.

  17.  @gardengatesopen  Loop 1 was also signed as "MoPac Expressway" back in the days of yore. It was originally called "MoPac Boulevard" in order to trick the residents of the adjacent neighborhoods into believing it wasn't going to be a freeway. Politicians are scam artists, but that's EVERYWHERE for ya.

It's not your choice to deny yourself a balanced omnivorous diet that offends people, it's the fact that you won't stop harping on and on about it with a generous side dish of self-righteous moralizing. Nobody is criticizing your dietary choices, why must you criticize everyone else's? Find some other way to virtue-posture in order to conceal the horrific things you have done to other people. We don't want to hear it.
