  1. This is a ridiculously easy non-problem to solve. Do this: Lower your standards. Don't book at "luxury" hotels. Shop around. Three-star hotels are just fine.

  2. Nobody can MAKE you buy something. None of these whiny wealthy people staying at luxury hotels were forced to book. They CHOSE to. You can choose to stay home.
