  4. Most franchisees are NOT multi-state, multi-location corporations raking in millions. Most are rather modest family-owned businesses that require a LOT of sweat equity. Also, their managers are often paid a weak-sauce base salary plus a percentage of the profit, which may be why the pay seems a little huge. If their store doesn't perform, they're eating Alpo for dinner. You don't have enough info to arrive at any conclusions. On the other hand, I have enough info (the inflated menu prices) to decide that, on the infrequent occasions that I don't eat at home, I'd rather go to a "REAL" restaurant and pay a few bucks more for a much better meal!

  6.  @AtlasGrinned  That isn't really laundering -- it's just graft. Laundering is when you run funds from criminal operations through a legal front to make it appear lawfully earned. Casinos and other cash-intensive businesses have historically been a popular choice of front for washing proceeds from drug and extortion rings.
