"The Utah was a Battleship, not a Carrier." -- Very true but, at the time, the Utah had been stripped of her guns and most of her superstructure in order to be used as a practice bombing target (she had no crew). As a result, her deck appeared to be very flat, just like a "flat-top" (carrier) and, therefore, many of the Japanese pilots mistook her for a carrier. They bombed the living crap out of her, which probably saved a significant number of American lives.

"Under-appreciated???" Only by talentless hack critics like Lardass Eatbert! When first released, the film was widely praised for its accuracy and special effects, as well as its decision to use Japanese cast and crew and the resulting balanced perspective of the events portrayed. The filmmakers were lauded for their choice to not just make another lame propaganda piece (unlike "The Green Berets"). I was living in Hawaii (Wheeler Field on Oahu) when they were filming there. Most of the Hickam exteriors and practical effects were actually shot at Wheeler, using the then-deactivated airstrip that was active during WWII and was shot up during the attack. Many interiors were filmed at the Wheeler Officers' Club, which had remained virtually unchanged since the war. The major inaccuracy that got a rise out of audiences in Hawaii was the scene where the Japanese planes flew through Kolekole Pass (pronounced as "coal ee coal ee" without pauses -- your Hawaiian is atrocious), which drew gales of laughter from the audience because the clearly visible gigantic white steel cross at the pass was built after the war (EDIT: I see you caught that one, too). It's gone, now, because a bunch of stupid nuisance lawsuits from "concerned" citizen busybody groups were costing the Army too much money. I'm sure those jerkholes won't stop their nonsense until all religious symbols are removed from the graves of war heroes at Arlington National Cemetery. Screw actual history that doesn't agree with an extreme political narrative, right?

"Where do you people even come from?? From fucking Mars??" -- We came from YOUR country, and every other country on Earth. We just decided to leave our inferiority complexes behind. Thanks for demonstrating why that was a good idea!
